My favorite restaurant is Sybergs. Not because it's a fun social environment when there's a St. Louis Blues hockey game on, but because their Sybergs Sauce is to die for. Their chicken wings tossed in Sybergs Famous Wing Sauce is my favorite food on their menu, and, in my opinion, is way better than any other restaurant chicken wings. I decided to attempt and make my own recipe for these air fryer chicken wings instead of following another recipe from someone else.

This recipe is a lot messier and longer than my previous recipes I have shared on this blog, but they come out perfectly juicy on the inside and crunchy on the outside. These chicken wings taste way better than cooking them on the grill, and you can make these any time of the year.

I cooked these chicken wings for my Dad, who is a chicken wing fanatic, and now he brags to all his work friends about how good my chicken wings are. If you like juicy wings with a kick of spice, this recipe is for you!

Ingredients:

  • 12 pack chicken wings ($5.48 from Walmart)

  • 1 cup flour ($1.18 from Walmart)

  • 1 cups Italian bread crumbs ($1.68 from Walmart)

  • 4 eggs (price depends on on size of eggs)

  • Sybergs sauce (or any wing sauce of your choice) - ($5.29 from Schnucks)

Optional Seasoning Mix:

  • Pinch of Salt & Pepper

  • 1 tsp garlic powder

  • 1 tsp onion powder

  • 1 tsp Cumin powder

  • 1 tsp paprika

  • 1 tsp chili powder

Instructions:

  1. Mix all spices in a bowl with the Italian bread crumbs

  2. Mix the eggs in a separate bowl

  3. Put the flour in a separate bowl

  4. Cover each chicken wing in flour, then in egg, and lastly in the breadcrumb/seasoning mix

  5. Line your air fryer with foil

  6. Place about 6 chicken wings in the air fryer (depends on the size of your air fryer basket - I have a PowerXL Vortex 7qt Air Fryer)

  7. Cook on 380 degrees for 15 minutes

  8. Place the cooked chicken wings in a big bowl and coat with the Sybergs sauce

  9. Toss the chicken wings in the sauce until fully covered

  10. Serve on a plate with any side of your choice!

Prep time: 15 min

Cook time: 15 min per batch

These chicken wings are great to make on a day when your schedule is free and your homework load is minimal. If you’re a chicken wing fanatic as much as my Dad, these chicken wings will not disappoint! Make these for your friends and family, too - you will be the best chicken wing chef they know.

I rate these a 9.5/10 because although they taste amazing, they do take longer and require more ingredients which I know is not ideal for many college students who are on a budget. If you try these be sure to tag @airfryermunchies on your Instagram story with your rating of this recipe!
